Match Rules & Scoring
Scoring & Divisions:
The BARC will be scored as a stand-alone USPSA Rifle match in EZ-Winscore. Hit Factor scoring will be used.
We support the following Divisions.
Semi-Auto Open
Semi-Auto Tactical Semi-Auto Limited
Big Bore Tactical (Heavy Metal Tactical)
Big Bore Limited (Heavy Metal Limited)
Manual Action Open
Big Bore Target Scoring Big Bore/Heavy Metal divisions will be scored under manual rifle target engagement rules with only 1 shot required per paper target. Stats will then enter each paper target hit (or miss) as 2 of that value to provide 1 hit target neutralization scoring for these divisions only
All Divisions (Open, Tactical, Limited, Big Bore & Manual Rifle) will follow the safety & equipment rules as specified in the USPSA 2009 Rifle Rules.
The IPSC Classic Target (Turtle) will be utilized as the standard paper target to tighten the A zone up a little (we ARE shooting rifles, right?). Specialty targets in use will include reactive steel, frangible and swinging paper targets.
Vertical Fore-Grip Usage: Due to the recent questions concerning whether and/or how fixed and detachable fore-grips qualify as support devices we have decided this match will allow them as follows.
Limited/Standard and Tactical Division: Fixed position fore-grips only allowed. A detachable fore-grip may be used, but it MUST remain attached AND in it's original position throughout the match.
Open Division: Anything goes!
For any division, a handguard mounted fore-grip may make contact with anything the rifle is allowed to make contact with inside the designated shooting areas. In other words, as long as it doesn't fault the shooting area, contact/support with the fore-grip is fine, just like with the handguard on a barricade, bipod or magazine on ground, etc... For the purposes of this ruling, a fore-grip is considered to be a fixed extension of the handguard.
Bipod & Sling Usage: Bipods are allowed in Open division only. Slings are allwoed in any division. Bipods and slings may be added or removed at any time during the match (even during the running of a stage) as this is not considered to alter the rifle configuration. Bipods and slings must be in stowed or in slack position at the start of a stage and may not be deployed or wrapped into support position until after the start signal is given or a procedural will be awarded.
Limits On Rounds Loaded:
There are no limits on number of rounds loaded at any time for any division in this match.
Safety Note: Any rifle without a working safety that prevents the hammer from falling when the trigger is pulled must start with an empty chamber whenever a loaded chamber start is allowed.
Shooting Area Faulting: Target engagement must be done with all parts of a competitor and firearm fully within shooting area for each shot fired. If an advantage is gained by faulting a shooting area a procedural per shot fired will be assessed otherwise a single procedural will be assessed for faulting a shooting area while firing.
If a competitor exits a designated shooting area and re-enters the same shooting area elsewhere to gain a competitive advantage (cutting corners, etc...) a match DQ will be assessed.
